  • City Guidelines

    Please specify your city accurately. GTA is not a city name nor is peninsule acadienne. Only a main city needs to be inputted. For instance,Ottawa instead of Nepean,ottawa. Please check our supported city list to see if your city stands by itself as a standalone location. If so,you can include it(for example,Mississauga,North York,Richmond Hill,Markham are considered main cities by themselves).
    If you cannot find your city in the list, you can suggest it for addition or select the closest main city to it. Please do not add the province name next to the city name. The province should be selected from its own drop down menu. Also,quebec cities must be spelt in French. Montréal instead of Montreal

  • Why all this fuss about city names ?

    Because the first time you search or post an ad, the city will default to Toronto. You will then have to change the city from a link just above entitled [Change city]. You can override this by accurately specifying your city here. For instance, If you inputted Montréal as your city all the site menus will default to Montréal.That is,the city field in the ad posting form will default to Montréal and so will all the search links. This will also replace Ontario with your city povince. In this case,Quebec.
    The benefit is clear: No hassle changing the default city. You will still be able to change the city if you want to post in other cities as well.
    Now if you input say Halifax,Dartmouth as your city, the site menus will still default to Toronto. This is because Halifax,Dartmouth is not a city. Halifax is. And so is Dartmouth. Montreal will not replace Toronto. But Montréal will.
